Socialight
The cure for FOMO

A bat signal for spontaneous plans.

Write one line — "Who wants to grab tacos tonight?" — pick the people you mean from your own contacts, and they answer with one tap. No group chat, no guilt: ignoring is invisible, saying yes takes a second.

How it works

1

Write the plan

A short "Who wants to…?", optionally with a place, a photo or video, a voice note, how many spots there are, and whether people may pass it on.

2

Choose who gets it

You pick recipients one by one from your own phone contacts, or reuse a group you saved. Nothing is broadcast; nobody is added by us.

3

They answer with one tap

App users get a push notification and reply with the button you chose ("Let's go", "I'm in", …). You see who's in; everyone else can see how many are in and which of their own friends said yes.

4

Meet up

Share your live location while you're on the way, see who's in, and pass the plan on to a friend of a friend if the sender allowed it. Signals end on their own — after a few hours or days — and are deleted 30 days later.

Socialight home feed with two invitations and who is in
Your feed: invitations you sent and received, who's in, spots left.
Writing a new invitation: message, place, live location, media, reply button
Writing a signal: one line, a place, a reply button.
Choosing recipients from your own contacts and saved groups
Choosing who gets it: your contacts and saved groups only.

If you got a text from us

When someone invites a person who doesn't have the app, Socialight sends one text message from +1 (855) 259-4391 carrying that invitation. It always names the person who invited you by their phone number, quotes what they wrote, links only to socialight.app, and tells you how to stop:

Invitation from +1 415 555 0199 via Socialight:
"Who wants to grab tacos at Loco's tonight? Table at 7:30"
Say "Let's go" or see details: https://socialight.app/i/k7Qz9m
Reply STOP to opt out.

You will only ever get a text because a specific person who already has your number invited you to something. There is no marketing and no recurring program. Reply STOP to never hear from Socialight again, HELP for help, or use the "Stop texts from this sender" button on the linked page to mute one person. Details: our SMS program, SMS terms, privacy.

The new Socialight is in a private beta on iPhone and Android. The public release on the App Store and Google Play will be announced here. To get in now, email beta@socialight.app from the address you use for the App Store or Google Play — that's where your invite goes.
